This story is so sad on so many levels - even beyond the insulin price gouging subject of the article.

I find it sad that his control is so poor that he needs an alarm to alert him of hypoglycemia (low blood-sugar). But I'm sure he is not alone. This style of rote after-the-fact control and hope for the best is what is traditional, as opposed to a personal before-the-fact totally in control method geared to synchronize with life's variables. Fancy devices should not be necessary.

I've promised a book on that method (The SPP method) and I'm still working on it. I don't want to leave anything out, so it's taking much longer than I imagined...
