Dr. Barnard has authored many nutrition books and conducted research on reversing diabetes though diet in conjunction with Georgetown University. He founded the Physicians Committee for Responsible Medicine (PCRM) in 1985, a group which promotes preventitive medicine and encourages high standards for ethics and effectiveness in reasearch. PCRM also introduced the New Four Food Groups in 1991, which include fruit, legumes, whole grains and vegetables.
Neal Barnard, MD has authored more than 50 published research papers and has written numberous books, many of which are highlighted on this site. Some of his books include The 21-Day Weight Loss Kickstart (2011), Dr. Neal Barnard's Program for Reversing Diabetes (2007), and Breaking the Food Seduction (2003).
Dr. Barnard is a frequent lecturer at scientific conferences and is a frequent contributor to the Huffington Post. He is also frequently interviewed by news programs to discuss nutrition and research regarding plant-based nutrition in modern medicine.
