Living a sedentary lifestyle may promote the onset of urinary incontinence in elderly women.
This study clarified the association between sedentary behaviors and the occurrence of urinary incontinence in older women. Researchers matched lifestyle habits with the presence/absence of urinary incontinence among 459 older women.
Researchers found out that a large proportion of participants suffering from urinary incontinence were living a sedentary lifestyle. Based on the data from this study, it can be concluded that sedentary behaviors are among the factors that can foster the development of urinary incontinence in elderly women.
