Increased consumption of alcohol may elevate colorectal cancer risk.
This study evaluated the relation of alcohol intake to colorectal cancer development risk. Researchers systematically reviewed 22 case-control studies that examined alcohol consumption as a risk factor for cancers of the colon and rectum. They found out that generous intake of alcohol increased the likelihood of developing colorectal cancer. The findings of this review reveal that increased colorectal cancer risk is associated with regular drinking of alcohol.
