Frequent consumption of apples may help to ward off colorectal cancer.
This study examined effect of regular intake of apples on the risk of having colorectal cancer. Researchers assessed the apple consumption rates and colorectal cancer odds ratios of 1,357 subjects.Researchers found a protective association between habitual consumption of apples and colorectal cancer. According to this study, a 50% decrease in colorectal cancer risk appeared to be related with the ingestion of more than one apple per day. The findings of this study demonstrate that an apple a day may help keep colorectal cancer away.
