Association between pro-inflammatory diet and liver cancer risk: a systematic review and meta-analysis

Preference for proinflammatory diets may bump up liver cancer risk in men and women.

This study assessed whether an association exists between frequent dietary ingestion of foods with high inflammatory potential and the development of liver cancer. Researchers compiled data culled from 5 studies involving more than 200, 000 participants.

Researchers observed that greater consumption of proinflammatory diets correlated with higher risk of liver cancer. This study provides strong evidence that fondness for proinflammatory foods may propel an individual on the path to developing liver cancer.
