High intake of coffee may significantly cut down liver cancer risk.
This study investigated the relationship between coffee intake and liver cancer risk. Researchers reviewed nutritional and clinical data extracted from 4 cohort and 5 case-control studies that examined 241406 subjects.
Researchers observed that high consumption of coffee reduced the chances of developing liver cancer in both subjects with and without any history of liver disease. Additional intake of extra 2 cups of coffee per day was found to decrease liver cancer risk by 43% in this study. The findings of this meta-analysis show that increased coffee consumption may confer significant protection against the development of cancerous cells in the liver.
