Cigarette smoking and risk of Hodgkin's disease: a population-based case-control study.

Cigarette smoking may up the risk of developing Hodgkin's disease

This study evaluated cigarette smoking in relation to the occurrence of Hodgkin's disease. Smoking habits and incidence of Hodgkin's disease were assessed by questionnaire and from US population-based cancer registries respectively.

Researchers found out current smokers were at higher risk of being diagnosed with Hodgkin's disease than never smokers. The findings of this study show that smoking may contribute positively to the development of Hodgkin's disease.
