Individuals who enjoy consuming ultra-processed foods may be at risk of developing pancreatic cancer.
This study determined whether the intake of ultra-processed foods is associated with the development of pancreatic cancer. Out of the 98,265 American adults who were recruited for this study, up to 387 of them had pancreatic cancer over an 8-year period.
Researchers noted that frequent ingestion of ultra-processed foods amplified the risk of having pancreatic cancer. The results of this study suggested that fondness for ultra-processed foods may give rise to pancreatic cancer.
