Adopting a physically active lifestyle may reduce cardiovascular and total mortality risk in diabetic patients.
This study analyzed the influence of physical exercise on mortality risk in diabetic patients using a meta-analytic approach. Researchers pooled data from 16 studies that examined over 150,000 diabetes patients and 13,000 cases of deaths.
Researchers found out that the more physically active diabetic patients are, the lower their chances of suffering from deaths due to cardiovascular disease and other causes. This study further affirmed that engaging in exercise regularly may boost a diabetic patient odds of evading premature deaths arising from cardiovascular disease and other causes.
