This study evaluated the influence of sweetened beverage consumption on cardiovascular mortality risk. Researchers reviewed data compiled from 8 studies that examined 1.2 million persons.
Data analysis revealed a trend of increased death toll from cardiovascular diseases among frequent consumers of sugary beverages. This study suggested that habitual drinking of sugared beverages might be one of the factors contributing to the rise in cardiovascular mortality currently being experienced globally.
