Generous intake of flavonoid-rich foods may significantly cut down the likelihood of suffering from erectile dysfunction.
This study investigated the association between the consumption of different subclasses of dietary flavonoids, such as anthocyanins, flavones, and flavonones, and the risk of developing erectile dysfunction. Researchers tracked the diets and evaluated the erectile function of 25,096 men recruited from the Health Professional Follow-Up Study.
The research team discovered that men below the age of 70 who consistently consumed flavonoid-rich foods had slim chances of suffering from erectile dysfunction. Regular consumption of fruits with high anthocyanin and flavonone content was found to reduce the risk of developing erectile dysfunction by 14%. The findings of this study show that erectile dysfunction is less likely to occur in men who are frequent consumers of flavonoid-rich foods.
