Smokers are highly liable to suffer from erectile dysfunction.
This study investigated the effect of smoking on male sexual function by means of a meta-analysis. A team of US researchers analyzed 83 studies and articles that examined the connection between smoking and erectile dysfunction.
Researchers discovered that smoking heightened the risk of developing erectile dysfunction. According to this study, cessation of cigarette smoking was found to restore erectile function in men who previously smoked for a brief period. "Smoking contributes to erectile dysfunction in different ways, especially by causing penile vasospasm and increased sympathetic nervous system tone," concluded the authors.
