This study focused on the impact of sugar-sweetened beverage (SSB) consumption on the quality of sleep and the development of anxiety. Researchers matched the level of sugary beverage intake with sleeping habits and the presence or absence of anxiety symptoms among 3,026 Chinese university students.
Researchers discovered that lovers of sugar-sweetened beverages had a high tendency to experience anxiety and poor quality of sleep. This study demonstrated that indulgence in sugared beverages may worsen sleep quality and trigger anxiety in young individuals.
