Whole grain consumption and risk of ischemic stroke in women: A prospective study.
This study investigated the correlation between the frequency of whole grain consumption and the occurrence of ischemic stroke in women. Researchers used data from 75,521 US women between the ages of 38-63 years to study how dietary ingestion of whole grains affect a woman's risk of developing ischemic stroke.
Researchers observed that habitual consumption of whole grains lowered the risk of ischemic stroke in women. The results of this study suggest that women who want to ward off ischemic stroke should add more whole grains to their diets.
