This study compared the frequency of alcohol consumption with the incidence of pancreatic cancer in the United States. Researchers collated and analyzed information on the alcohol intake levels of 486 pancreatic cancer patients and 2,109 Americans with no history of the disease.
Researchers discovered that heavy drinking of alcohol resulted in greater risk of pancreatic cancer, especially among blacks. This study threw more light on the role alcohol consumption play in the development of pancreatic cancer.
