Frequent drinking of alcohol may increase an individual's chances of developing colorectal cancer.
This study examined the consumption of alcohol in relation to the development of colorectal neoplasia (cancer). Researchers matched alcohol drinking habits with colorectal cancer diagnosis in a study population comprising of 1,448 Korean men and women.
Researchers observed that habitual consumers of alcohol faced increased risk of having colorectal cancer. The results of this study show that regular ingestion of alcohol may contribute positively to the development of colorectal cancer.
