Generous consumption of alcoholic drinks can trigger the onset of rosacea.
This research work studied the correlation between alcohol intake and the incidence of rosacea in US women. Drinking habits and incidence of rosacea were assessed by questionnaires and hospital records respectively.
Researchers discovered that the likelihood of suffering from rosacea was higher among alcohol consumers than in non-drinkers. "Alcohol intake was significantly associated with an increased risk of rosacea in women," concluded the authors.
