Following a plant-based diet may confer men with significant protection against prostate cancer.
This meta-analysis analyzed data from previously published studies that investigated the correlation between dietary choices and the propensity to develop prostate cancer. A total of 47 studies were considered eligible for this meta-analysis.
Researchers observed that adherence to a plant-based diet cut down the risk of prostate cancer. On the other hand, a marked increase in the likelihood of developing prostate cancer was found in subjects that ate animal foods, such as dairy products. The results of this study show that dietary choices may have a significant impact on prostate cancer risk.
