Coffee drinking may elevate stomach cancer risk.
The purpose of this study was to undertake a meta-analysis of the relationship between coffee drinking and the risk of acquiring gastric (stomach) cancer. Researchers pooled data from 13 eligible studies that revealed the detrimental effect of coffee on stomach health.
Researchers found out that individuals, especially Americans, who indulge in coffee drinking demonstrated a significant increase in gastric cancer risk. "Our meta-analysis results suggest that a high level of coffee consumption is a risk factor for gastric cancer," the authors concluded.
