Engaging in physical activity regularly may put a woman on the path to avoiding a diagnosis of proliferative benign breast disease.
This study examined the impact of physical activity on the risk of developing proliferative benign breast disease—a precursor to breast cancer. Researchers surveyed more than 40,000 women for a duration of 4 years. During the course of the study, a total of 232 women were diagnosed with proliferative benign breast disease.
Researchers observed that for every 1 hour a woman spent walking, her risk of acquiring proliferative benign breast disease decreased by 9%. This study highlights the beneficial effect of physical activity in the prevention of proliferative benign breast disease.
