Adopting a physically active lifestyle may brighten a man's chances of avoiding erectile dysfunction.
This study examined whether regular exercise can help halt the onset of erectile dysfunction (ED) using a meta-analytic approach. Researchers sifted through data obtained from 10 eligible studies.
Researchers found out that engaging in physical activity, especially intense aerobic exercise of 40 minutes duration for at least 4 times per week, improved erectile function in men with erectile dysfunction due to vascular disorders. The authors concluded that "Overall, weekly exercise of 160 minutes for 6 months contributes to decreasing erectile problems in men with ED caused by physical inactivity, obesity, hypertension, metabolic syndrome, and/or cardiovascular diseases."
