Association Between Fried Food Consumption and Hypertension in Korean Adults

Women on high fried food diet are likely to become hypertensive.

This study investigated the hypothesis that preference for fried foods may induce the onset of hypertension. Researchers examined the food choices and regularly measured the blood pressures of 9,921 Korean adults.

The team of investigators found a 2.4-fold increase in the risk of hypertension among women, but not men, who ate fried foods more than two times in a week. The results of this study support the notion that high intake of fried foods may put a woman at high risk of suffering from hypertension.
