This study examined if higher intake of fried foods is tied to greater risk of metabolic syndrome. Researchers analyzed 3 years worth of dietary and health data from 1,476 Iranian adult men and women within the age bracket of 19-70 years.
Researchers observed that fast food eaters experienced a significant jump in the risk of metabolic syndrome. Evidence from this study suggest that high fast food diet may make an individual more vulnerable to acquiring metabolic syndrome.
