Cancer, particularly breast cancer, is less likely to occur in individuals who enjoy consuming mushrooms.
This meta-analysis assessed the risk of cancer associated with the consumption of mushrooms. Researchers compiled data and evidence drawn from 17 studies published between 1 January, 1966 and 30 October, 2020.
The team of investigators noticed that high consumption of mushrooms diminished the risk of different types of cancer, especially breast cancer. The data from this study indicate that regular intake of mushrooms might provide a shield against cancer.
