A decline in total, cancer, and cardiovascular mortality risk is associated with consistent consumption of nuts.
This study investigated the association between nut consumption and mortality risk. Researchers tracked the death records and examined the diets of 2,893 subjects for 15 years. They found out that subjects with high dietary intake of nuts demonstrated a significant reduction in total, cancer, and cardiovascular mortality risk. The results of this study suggest that generous intake of nuts may decrease an individual’s chances of suffering from deaths due to cancer, cardiovascular diseases, and other causes.
