The odds of evading a diagnosis of pancreatic cancer may favor middle-aged men on high whole grain diet.
This study assessed the risk of pancreatic cancer associated with the consumption of whole grains. Researchers surveyed more than 50,000 Danish middle-aged men and women for an average period of 17.5 years. During the course of the study, a total of 446 cases of pancreatic cancer was recorded.
Researchers discovered that habitual intake of 50 grams of whole grains per day slashed pancreatic cancer risk by up to 7% in middle-aged men. The results of this study demonstrate that high dietary ingestion of whole grains may help to curtail the development of pancreatic cancer in middle-aged men.
