This study examined the effect of dietary ingestion of isoflavones on the quality and duration of sleep. Researchers compared isoflavone consumption rate with sleep duration and quality in a study population comprising of 1,076 Japanese adults within the age bracket of 20-78 years.
Researchers discovered that high consumers of foods packed with isoflavones had better quality and duration of sleep than low or non consumers of these phytochemicals. Evidence from this study suggest that Increase in the frequency of consumption isoflavone-containing foods may improve sleep quality and duration.
