Consumers of cholesterol-rich foods may have increased odds of acquiring stomach cancer.
This meta-analysis synthesized evidence from previously published studies that focused on the link between the intake of cholesterol-containing foods and the onset of gastric (stomach) cancer. A total of 14 studies involving 6490 patients with stomach cancer and 17,793 healthy individuals was included in this meta-analysis.
Data analysis revealed that frequent consumers of cholesterol-rich foods demonstrated a high tendency to come down with gastric cancer. The findings of this meta-analysis suggest that a high cholesterol diet may promote the development of stomach cancer.
