Habitual eating of foods packed with antioxidants may knock down cardiovascular disease risk in men and women.
This study explored the association between regular ingestion of foods high in antioxidants and the prevalence of cardiovascular disease. More than 19,000 Korean men and women volunteered nutritional and health information for this study.
Researchers noticed that the probability of developing atherosclerotic cardiovascular disease plummeted with increase in the frequency of consumption of antioxidant-containing foods. This study further affirmed that greater intake of foods rich in antioxidants may confer an individual with adequate protection against cardiovascular disease.
