Low incidence of breast cancer is associated with women who regularly consume cruciferous vegetables.
This research work was carried out to examine the relationship between cruciferous vegetable intake and breast cancer risk. Researchers analyzed data on the cruciferous vegetable consumption level and breast cancer relative risk obtained from 13 epidemiologic studies. They found out that high intake of cruciferous vegetables significantly reduced breast cancer risk. The findings of this meta-analysis provide evidence that consistent consumption of cruciferous vegetables may protect women against the development of breast cancer.
