A lifetime of alcohol consumption may favor the development of breast cancer in women.
This study looked at the connection between long-term usage of alcohol and a woman's odds of developing breast cancer. Researchers matched alcohol drinking habits with the occurrence of breast cancer among 2,500 Spanish women.
Researchers noted that breast cancer diagnoses were high among women who were generous consumers of alcohol for years. This study concluded that the greater the amount and duration of alcohol intake, the higher a woman's chances of being diagnosed with breast cancer.
