Decreased colorectal cancer risk is associated with increased dietary intake of folate.
The aim of this research work was to determine the effect of high folate intake on colorectal cancer risk. Researchers conducted a meticulous meta-analysis on data extracted from 27 published literatures on the subject. They discovered that increased dietary consumption of folate reduced the likelihood of developing colorectal cancer. The findings of this review suggest that consistent consumption of folate-rich foods may protect individuals against colorectal cancer.
