Dose-response relation between dietary inflammatory index and human cancer risk: evidence from 44 epidemiologic studies involving 1,082,092 participants

Regular ingestion of proinflammatory foods may boost an individual's chances of developing cancer.

​This meta-analysis examined the consumption of proinflammatory diets and its relationship with the development of cancer. Researchers studied the nutritional and health records of 1,082,092 men and women who participated in 44 studies. 

Cancer rates were found to be elevated among participants on high inflammatory diets in this study. This meta-analysis pointed out that increased intake of proinflammatory foods may be one of the factors responsible for high incidence of cancer globally.
