Inflammatory potential of diet and risk of laryngeal cancer in a case-control study from Italy

Eating a pro-inflammatory diet may make an individual vulnerable to having laryngeal cancer.

This study evaluated the role of pro-inflammatory diets in the development of laryngeal cancer. Researchers reviewed the diets of 460 patients with laryngeal cancer and 1,088 persons without this cancer.

Researchers found out that consumers of pro-inflammatory diets constituted a large proportion of patients with laryngeal cancer. "These results indicate that a pro-inflammatory diet is associated with increased risk of laryngeal cancer," the study concluded.
