This study was carried out to determine the effect of consuming a high-fiber diet on ovarian cancer risk. A group of Italian researchers compared dietary patterns with the rate of occurrence of ovarian cancer in a cohort comprising of 3442 women.
The team of researchers discovered that women who regularly consumed foods high in fiber, especially vegetables, were less likely to develop ovarian cancer compared to their counterparts who ate little amounts of these types of foods. This study demonstrates that following a high-fiber diet may contribute positively to the prevention of ovarian cancer.
