Effect of vegetable consumption on risk of gastric cancer: a systematic review and multi-level meta-analysis of prospective studies

Filling our plates with vegetables regularly may help shield us from gastric (stomach) cancer.

​This study was carried out to confirm the protective effect of a high vegetable diet against gastric (stomach) cancer. Researchers conducted a meticulous meta-analysis on data extracted from 13 studies.

Researchers noted that devout consumption of vegetables decreased the risk of developing stomach cancer significantly. Evidence from this meta-analysis showed that adequate intake of vegetables may help guard against the occurrence of gastric cancer.
