This study examined if higher intake of ultra-processed foods is tied to greater risk of cardiovascular disease. A total of 26,362 Swedish men and women enrolled for this study and volunteered information about their dietary choices and cardiovascular disease diagnosis status.
Researchers observed that habitual eating of ultra-processed foods resulted in a hike in the risk of cardiovascular disease. Data from this study showed that likeness for ultra-processed foods may edge an individual closer to receiving a diagnosis of cardiovascular disease.
