The odds of dying prematurely from cardiovascular disease and other causes may be tilted against men and women who enjoy eating ultra-processed foods.
This study compared deaths rates between consumers and non-consumers of ultra-processed foods. Researchers tracked the dietary choices and mortality records of over 200,000 persons who participated in 7 studies.
Researchers found out that the probability of dying from cardiovascular ailments and other chronic diseases was higher among ultra-processed food eaters than in non-consumers of these foods. This study strengthened the body of evidence linking ultra-processed food intake with rising risk of premature deaths in men and women.
