This study assessed the alcohol-bladder cancer connection hypothesis using a meta-analytic approach. Researchers reviewed data and evidence obtained from a pool of 16 studies.
Data analysis showed that heavy drinking of alcohol promoted the development of bladder cancer in men and in Japanese population. This study demonstrated that higher levels of alcohol consumption might be a risk factor for bladder cancer in men and in Japanese population.
