Impact of alcohol consumption on the risk of developing bladder cancer: a systematic review and meta-analysis
High consumption of alcohol may fuel the development of bladder cancer in males and among the Japanese.
This study assessed the alcohol-bladder cancer connection hypothesis using a meta-analytic approach. Researchers reviewed data and evidence obtained from a pool of 16 studies.
Data analysis showed that heavy drinking of alcohol promoted the development of bladder cancer in men and in Japanese population. This study demonstrated that higher levels of alcohol consumption might be a risk factor for bladder cancer in men and in Japanese population.
