Frequent consumption of red and processed meats may stimulate the development of nasopharyngeal cancer.
This study investigated the red meat-nasopharyngeal cancer connection hypothesis by means of a meta-analysis. Researchers compiled data from 15 studies that examined the link between red meat and processed meat intake and the risk of nasopharyngeal cancer.
Researchers discovered the greater the amounts of red and processed meats consumed, the higher the risk of having nasopharyngeal cancer. The results of this study highlight that high dietary ingestion of red and processed meats may be a factor that contributes to the development of nasopharyngeal cancer.
