High meat diets may accelerate the development of rhiniconjunctvitis in pregnant women.
This study determined the role regular ingestion of meat and fatty foods play in the development of rhinoconjunctivitis in pregnant women. With the aid of validated food frequency questionnaires, researchers collected and analyzed the dietary information of 1,745 pregnant Japanese women. The rhinoconjunctivitis odds ratios of all the participants in this study were also ascertained.
Researchers observed that rhinoconjunctivitis occurred with greater frequency in meat eaters. These data indicate that high meat diets may be a contributing factor to the development of rhinoconjunctivitis in pregnant women.
