Frequent consumers of meat may have a higher propensity to suffer from depression.
The purpose of this study was to undertake a systematic meta-analysis of the association between meat consumption and the risk of suffering from depression. Researchers reviewed data from 8 studies that examined the connection between meat intake and depression occurrence.
Researchers found out that depression is more likely to occur in regular consumers of meat than in individuals who refrained from eating meats. Evidence from this study support the notion that a high-meat diet is tied to a greater risk of depression.
