Fondness for coffee, tea, and soft drinks may put an individual at risk of fracturing a bone.
The objective of this study was to determine whether an association exists between regular drinking of coffee, tea, and soft drinks and the occurrence of fracture. Researchers examined the beverage-drinking habits and incidence of fracture among 36,740 Chinese men and women for a duration of 7 years. During the course of the study, a total of 1,833 cases of fracture was recorded in the study population.
Researchers discovered that devout consumers of coffee, tea, and soft drinks had increased tendency of fracturing a bone. Evidence from this study suggest that lovers of coffee, tea, and soft drinks may be highly prone to suffer from fracture.
