Researchers noticed that increased intake of foods packed with lutein, zeaxanthin, beta-carotene, vitamin A, and C significantly decreased the odds of having cataracts. The findings of this study reveal that avid consumption of certain dietary vitamins and carotenoids may confer individuals with significant protection against cataracts.
