Devout consumption of fruits and vegetables may help halt sarcopenia from occurring in men and women.
Sarcopenia is a condition characterized by progressive loss of muscle mass and strength, resulting in muscle weakness. This meta-analysis evaluated the results of 28 studies that focused on the relationship between dietary ingestion of fruits and vegetables and the likelihood of having sarcopenia. More than 30,000 men and women took part in these studies.
Researchers noted that the higher the amounts of fruits and vegetables participants consumed, the better protected they are from sarcopenia. This study arrived at the conclusion that optimal intake of fruits and vegetables may help curb the onset of sarcopenia in men and women.
