This study evaluated the consumption of fruits and vegetables in relation to the occurrence of depression in middle-aged women. Researchers compared diets with the incidence of depression among 6,271 Australian women with an average age of 55 years.
Researchers observed that increased intake of fruits and vegetables lowered the risk of depression. The results of this study show that fondness for fruits and vegetables may help to keep depression away from middle-aged women.
