Adequate intake of fruits and vegetables may help shield women from bladder cancer.
This study set out to answer the question: does high fruit and vegetable diet reduce the risk of bladder cancer? Researchers analyzed 12.5 years worth of nutritional data from 581 patients with bladder cancer and compared it with the diet of over 185,000 healthy adults over the same period.
Researchers discovered that indulgence in fruits and vegetables lowered the risk of bladder cancer in women, but not in men. This study suggests that women who want to minimize their risk of bladder cancer should add more fruits and vegetables to their diet.
