This research work studied the consumption of fruits and vegetables in relation to the occurrence of depressive symptoms. Researchers utilized data obtained from more than 25,000 men and women residing in Peru.
Researchers discovered that participants with high intake of fruits and vegetables were less likely to suffer from depression than their counterparts who consumed little or none of these plant foods. The results of this study demonstrate that diets rich in fruits and vegetables may help to keep depression at bay.
